Ultrasound Carotid Artery

This is a preventive health screening that measures blood flow to the brain using high-frequency sound waves applied to the large blood vessel in the neck called the Common Carotid Artery. If plaque buildup, such as calcium deposits or fatty deposits, accumulates and thickens in this artery, it can increase the risk of artery blockage and lead to other related diseases.

Potential risks from Carotid artery narrowing include:

  • Increased risk of stroke caused by blocked or ruptured blood vessels in the brain, leading to conditions such as paralysis or hemiplegia.

  • Increased risk of vision loss due to blockage of blood vessels that supply the retina.

Ultrasound Thyroid

This test uses high-frequency sound waves to detect abnormalities in the thyroid gland, which is an essential organ responsible for producing hormones that regulate the body’s metabolism. This screening allows physicians to assess the size, structure, and characteristics of the thyroid gland to help diagnose nodules, cysts, or thyroid dysfunction.

Who should consider Carotid Artery and Thyroid Ultrasound screening?

  • Individuals seeking preventive health screening to reduce the risk of stroke or to detect thyroid abnormalities.

  • People with symptoms such as goiter, unexplained weight changes, palpitations, fatigue, or a family history of thyroid disease.

  • Individuals with a family history of arterial stenosis caused by atherosclerosis.

  • People with risk behaviors, such as smoking, poor diet, lack of exercise, or being overweight.
